Benefits of Using Natural Bath and Body Products

When choosing bath and body products it is so important to stop and think what is actually being put on your skin. Lotions, soaps, body washes.. all of these things have ingredients that enter INTO our pores through our skin . So when you really think about it, we should be so careful and selective about the ingredients in our skin care products.

When you go to the store to pick up something like a bottle of lotion or a new lip balm, take a second to read the ingredient label. It is likely you can't even pronounce half of them.

This is why we decided to make a line of all natural, homemade bath and body products. We only use all natural ingredients like almond oil, coconut oil, sugar, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe, vitamin E, etc. We also use organic essential oils for our scented items. All of these ingredients are safe and beneficial to put on your body. Natural oils like almond and coconut oil have such great benefits to improving your skin and lips.

We even use a natural antibacterial agent called tea tree oil for our soap so that you can still have the benefit of using a hand soap that kills germs, but won't harm your skin.

Our lip balm is great for moisturizing lips and has a great smooth texture. It is also great and safe to use on children who have those painful chapped lips.

Our current products for purchase:

16 oz Sugar Scrub: $10.00
                                8 oz Lotion: $6.00
8 oz Liquid Hand Soap: $4.00
Owl Bar Soap: $3.00
Lip Balm Tin: $3.00
 Lip Balm Pot: $3.00

All of our products have ingredient labels on the bottom so you can see exactly what is in each one.

iAccessorize

Everyone knows we are living in quite a high tech era here in 2012. iPads, iPods, GPS, satellite radio, FaceTime..but why not add a little age to your wardrobe with a vintage accessory?

We are always on the look out for a killer piece of vintage jewelry and we have collected quite a few to share. We've found everything from large pendant necklaces and bangles to fun broaches..

These are a just a few of our finds that we love to wear ourselves...

Cameo

Large elephant pendant necklace

Charm Bracelet

We love cameos and they are really easy to find when searching for vintage jewelry. They are super cute and absolutely timeless. Most estate sales and thrift stores have them in all different shapes, colors, and sizes. We found a glass one that we put on a chain to make a really awesome necklace!

Charm bracelets are everywhere now...Pandora, Persona, Brighton, Chamilia. While all of those are beautiful modern options, why not wear a fab vintage charm bracelet like ours? What we love about finding a vintage charm bracelet is that you're wearing a story from the past. They're not as easy to find, so if you see a good one be sure to snatch it up!

Large pendant necklaces. Oh, how we love these. A pendant necklace can add so much flavor to an outfit. You can find vintage necklaces with all kinds of different styles of pendants. We have found quirky fish and animal ones, to ones with big beautiful stones. You can never have too many of these. Each one is super unique and gives you a chance to express your personality!

A few things to remember when searching for vintage jewelry

If you are going to an estate sale or a thrift store, chances are you will find a lot of boxes or displays that look something like this:

Everything seems to be clumped together and you're not sure what's what. Most estate sales have a lot of really awesome broaches. They will be thrown in the box and there's a good chance you'll skip over them because they're not on a chain and you don't wear "pins". BUT these broaches can be made into a pendant necklace by putting it on a long or short chain to your liking.

You can always put loose items on a chain or swap chains out that are longer, shorter, or different colors.

Also, always remember everything can be cleaned! We clean and polish all of our pieces after we buy them and it makes a world of difference. Sometimes all a piece needs is a little polish to give it that sparkle back.

Now go out there and find some great summer accessories!

If you ever have any questions or want to find out when our shows are to come check out our finds, you can e-mail us at letitbe.info@gmail.com. If you can't make it to a show and still would like to find out what we have, we'd be happy to send you pictures as well :)

Let's Talk Vintage

We are always browsing different vintage sites and blogs to see what other people are finding out there. Vintage lovers have to stick together, ya know?

All winter we have been hunting awesome finds to bring to our shows this spring. A couple of hot items we are keeping our eyes peeled for right now are sexy menswear items for us ladies. The bowtie and "Peter Pan" collar, if you will, are really chic and classy. One awesome blog we follow is The Vintage Valley. She had a few pics of the bow tie/collar look. She is definitely a new favorite of ours!

Polka dots are also really in right now. We love polka dots! They are the perfect cute, fun, and flirty pattern for summer.  We snagged a fab polka dot blouse at a sale a few weeks ago and we can't wait to show it... AND it had a bowtie collar. Score.

Another blog/website we LOVE is Gary Pepper Vintage. They have everything, but their dresses for this spring really inspired us.

The trick is, once you find a dress with a pattern or color you like, shorten it! We've seen so many people pass up an awesome dress just because it was too long and frumpy. Altering is super easy, and so worth it! If it's a bold, busy pattern, all you'll need is a pair of kick ass flats or sandals and the right accessories for a cool, laid back but girly look. If it's plain but an awesome color, pair it with a sexy pair of lace design tights and a cool vintage necklace(we have tons of those). Stay tuned for a sneak of the dresses we've found for our spring shows!

First Post

Here it goes..our attempt at the first post. New to this whole blog thing so bear with us.

We've been crazy busy mixing up some new natural body goodies for our upcoming vendor shows. We will be at the Most Holy Name vendor show on March 31st. Talk about creeping up quickly.

Last night we whipped up two new scents for our sugar scrubs. Coconut Lime and Brown Sugar Vanilla.

Um, yum.

Our next project for our vintage finds is in the works for March 18th and we will be sure to upload preview pictures. Oh, and we have two twins better than the Olsen's helping us out ;)
